WHAT TO WEAR FOR YOUR HEADSHOT

OUR RULE OF THUMB IS: 1. DRESS FOR YOUR HEADSHOT AS IF YOU WERE MEETING YOUR DREAM CLIENT OR EMPLOYER. 2. BE YOU! IF YOU FEEL LIKE YOU ARE WEARING A COSTUME, RETHINK YOUR OUTFIT. 3.IF YOUR BRAND IS LOUD AND FULL OF PATTERNS...THEN WEAR PATTERNS.

IF THOSE RULES MAKE NO SENSE TO YOU HERE ARE THE BASICS TO MOST HEADSHOTS

Solid colors work best. Choose a solid color shirt in a neutral tone like white, light blue, or grey to keep the focus on your face. Fit is key: Ensure your shirt fits well, not too tight or too loose, as the lines of your clothing will be visible in the headshot. Avoid busy patterns: Stay away from busy patterns or stripes as they can be distracting in the photo. UNLESS Patterns are on brand for you. Consider your profession: Dress in a way that reflects your industry and the image you want to project. Minimal jewelry: Limit jewelry to simple pieces that won't draw attention away from your face.
